MULTICAL® 403 is a reliable apartment (and building) heat meter with an ultrasonic measuring section and modular communication. The device is configured on site from the front panel, which reduces installation time and the need for multiple variants in stock. Wireless M-Bus/linkIQ® or wired M-Bus provides remote reading, remote reconfiguration, and log access via the READy system—without physical access to the installation. The combination of optimized consumption and fast integration interval provides frequent, accurate data and long battery life.

Communication and remote reading
- Slots for communication modules: M-Bus (wired), Wireless M-Bus/linkIQ®, Modbus, BACnet, analog outputs.
- Remote reconfiguration and log reading via READy (for linkIQ®/Wireless M-Bus).
- Pulse inputs/outputs on selected modules for external meters (water meters, electricity meters).
Power supply and battery
- Battery: up to 16 years when reading from an M-Bus module at ~10 s.
- Mains power supply (optional): 24 VAC/VDC or 230 VAC, including high-power variants.
Measuring parameters and ranges
- Ultrasonic flow meter; IP68 protection class for the flow meter.
- Nominal flow rates (example qp variants): 0.6 / 1.5 / 2.5 / 3.5 / 6 / 10 / 15 m³/h with corresponding DN sizes.

- Sensors: Pt100/Pt500, 2- or 4-wire; optical interface for local reading/configuration.
Display and loggers
- LCD display with 7 or 8 digits and symbols.
- Programmable data logger (including minute log) + option for reading logs via M-Bus/READy.
Installation and design
- Compact housing; on-site configuration via front buttons; platform with firmware updates for device and modules without affecting legal registers.
