Production and Delivery of District Heating Substations for Novo Nordisk Research Centre at Måløv, Denmark
Executing the project "Unit delivery to area 2.8 Novo Nordisk Måløv" for the waste management public company Vestforbrænding Dalsia (former Brunata OOD) delivered 4 large substations Dalsia to the innovative healthcare company Novo Nordisk in Malov, Denmark.

Project summary
Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with 90 years of innovation and leadership. The company has focus on the development of products to benefit people with diabetes and leading positions within haemophilia care, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy.
The new district heating substations replaced the old boilers in the healthcare company to connect the building units to the expanding central heating network of Vestforbrænding. Each of the district heating units Dalsia is adapted to the individual customer needs and working conditions. The heating capacities of the newly installed units are 2x950 kW, 2000 kW, 4000 kW and 2700 kW, where two of the substations has been specially designed for future extension with an additional heat exchanger. After the manufacturing in Brunata's factory and supervising by Vestforbrænding engineers the substations has been delivered and assembled on side by Brunata's specialists.
The district heating energy produced by Vestorbrænding's incinerator of waste and distributed by the new district heating substations Dalsia will contribute to Novo Nordisk environmental responsibility optimizing the heat energy consumption and leading to serious savings for the company.
Additional facts
Vestforbrænding is a waste management public company owned by 19 local authorities. The company's largest single activity is a large incinerator in Ejby at Glostrup. The incinerator's kiln capacity is up to 550,000 tonnes of waste per year. The incinerator is a thermal power plant. The energy released by the combustion of waste is converted for both electricity and district heating. The district heating is equivalent to approx. 75,000 households.
